Adopt a Backpack
We're partnering with Susquenita Elementary School to help provide extra supplies for students this school year. With extra safety protocols this year, each student will need to have their own supplies. This puts a strain on the school, teachers and families. We are praying for a successful school year for our students and teachers and want to do anything we can to set them up for the best year yet. Purchase a gender/age neutral backpack and fill it with the list of supplies (linked above). You can also donate individual items from the list and they will be distributed as needed.
Food Bank Sunday
On the last Sunday each month, we'll collect non-perishable items for the Perry County Food Bank. Items can be dropped off during our in-person service on the last Sunday of each month. A list of needed items can be found at perrycountyfoodbank.org.
Spread the Joy
We want to delivery joy (in the form of flowers and plants) down Market Street in Duncannon. There are three ways to help with this project.
Paint a Flower Pot - this is a great activity for kids and families and it can be done at home. Pick up your supplies on Sunday, July 19 or Monday, July 13 and return the decorated pots by Sunday, August 2.
Plant - help us plant the flowers in the decorated pots on Sunday, August 9 following the service.
Deliver - after the flowers have been planted, help us deliver the plants to homes and businesses along Market Street in Duncannon on Sunday, August 9.
Care Cards for Stonebridge
With continued restrictions on visiting nursing homes, we want to spread some cheer to our neighbors at Stonebridge nursing home. You can decorate a card or use a pre-made card and write an encouraging note to let our neighbors know we're thinking of them. Please drop UNSEALED cards in the box at Cornerstone. One of our team members will deliver them to Stonebridge.
Pen Pals for Stonebridge
With continued restrictions on visiting nursing homes, we want to stay in touch with our neighbors at Stonebridge. As a Pen Pal, you will be connected with one resident to share letters and cards back and forth. When you sign up, we will provide a name and mailing address for a resident and your name and mailing address will be shared with that resident. This is an ongoing service project. If you'd like to write a few cards for a one time project, check out our "Cheer Cards" project.
